Dread Nation #1 by Justina Ireland is a book I found from the library. I got the audible version. Now, I don't normally read historical fiction even if it is altered and I hate reading books those that have slaves or racism but this book has both.

Why I started it I will never know but once I started I couldn't stop/5. New York Times bestseller * Six starred reviews.

Justina Ireland definitely covers all this in Dread Nation. For the most part I highly enjoyed the book. It kept my interest and brought up some feelings, including me tearing up while listening to it, regarding our history during the Civil war area and how the African American.

Jane McKeene was born two days before the dead began to walk the battlefields of Gettysburg. In Ireland, the two nations theory holds that Ulster Protestants form a distinct Irish nation. Advocated mainly by Unionists and loyalists, who used it as a basis for opposing Home Rule and, later, to justify the partition of Ireland, it has been strongly criticised by Irish nationalists such as John Redmond (who stated that "'the two nation theory' is to us an abomination and a blasphemy.

With a shrewd, scythe-wielding protagonist of color, Dread Nation is an exciting must-read. All the classic elements of the zombie novel are present, but Ireland (Promise of Shadows, etc.) takes the genre up a notch with her deft exploration of racial oppression in this alternative Reconstruction-era America.

It’s no coincidence Author: Justina Ireland. The greatest book about what contemporary Ireland is like is always the most recent Ross O’Carroll-Kelly work.

There are occasional rumours that his books are actually works of comic fiction Author: Martin Doyle. I really liked Ireland’s PROMISE OF SHADOWS, but DREAD NATION is such a leap forward in complexity and craft that’s amazing. I really am in awe of this book that shows us a alternate history of the United States during reconstruction, but reflects our country as it currently exists/5.
